The allowances provided to the RRB JE employee are:
HRA is generally provided to the RRB JE employees to meet their house rent need. As per the 7th pay commission, the HRA has been revised:
The basic HRA of an employee starts from 24% for X class cities, 16% for Y class Cities, 8% for Z class cities.
There is also a minimum criterion of HRA payment. If according to your grade pay 24% HRA does not sum up to Rs 5400 minimum for X class cities, you will still receive Rs 5400. Likewise, the minimum HRA pay in Y class cities is Rs 3600 and in Z class cities it is Rs 1800.
If the employee’s DA crosses 25%, the HRA would be 27% for the X class cities, 18% for the Y class cities and 9% for the Z class cities.
If the DA crosses 50%, the HRA would be 30% for the X class cities, 20% for the Y class cities and 10% for the Z class cities.
Note: The X category cities are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Pune. The Y category contains almost 100 towns with a population above 5 Lakhs. The Z category contains rural areas.
Currently, the Dearness Allowance or DA is 17% of the basic pay. Govt of India changes the DA% according to the living cost and inflation in the recent market. It the living adjustment cost of the employees. It was revised by the union cabinet on 29th October 2019. Dearness Allowance or (DA) is merged with basic pay therefore, it is not shown separately.
Transport allowance is provided to the employee to cover their traveling expense from home to office. TA is approx Rs 4000 for X class cities and Rs 2000 for Y & Z class cities.
The other allowances consist of the pension scheme and medical allowance.
