The SSC GD Constable Exam is a national level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. According to the official SSC GD Constable Notification 2021, there will be 25,271 SSC GD Constable Vacancies for 2021. The vacancies are however the combined number of vacancies for men and women. The entrants who want to appear for the exam must complete the SSC GD Constable Online Application by 31st August 2021. The exam dates have not been released yet however, the SSC GD Constable Syllabus has already been released along with the official notification. SSC GD Constable Notification on Exam Pattern:

The SSC GD Constable exam is conducted in four stages. The first stage of the exam is CBT. If the entrants qualify in the CBT phase they will then have to attend the Physical Efficiency Test thereafter they will go through Physical Standard and Medical Test. Each round of the exam is qualifying. Entrants need to qualify in each round to be selected for the next one. The result for each round of the exam will be released through the official website of the Staff Selection Commission.  Let’s have a look at the details of the exam pattern now:

 

SSC GD Constable CBT Exam:

This phase of the exam is called a computer-based test. The entrants will have to appear in the test through the computer. the question will be multiple choose entrants just need to select the right answers. There will be four papers in this exam. The total marks of the exam will be 100. Entrants will have a cumulative time of 90mins to finish the exam.

SSC GD Constable Physical Efficiency Test 2021:

Post completion of CBT the entrants will have to face a Physical Efficiency Test or PET. The entrants will be asked to perform physical activities to test their abilities as the post under GD would involve physical fitness.

SSC GD Physical Standard Test 2021:

Entrants physical features will be examined carefully to check if find if they are required, height, weight and vision. Post completion of PET & PST, a Medical test will be performed before the final selection of entrants.

 

SSC GD Constable Notification on Eligibility 2021:

The entrants applying for the SSC GD exam should know the SSC GD Eligibility 2021 criteria. The eligibility of entrants is determined by three factors. The nationality, age bracket and educational qualification. Let’s have a look into the details of each criterion:

Nationality:

  • A Citizen of India, Nepal & Bhutan will be considered eligible entrants for SSC GD Exam
  • Tibetan refugees who took refuge in India before 1st Jan 1962 intending to live in India permanently are also considered eligible for the SSC GED exam.
  • SSC also consider entrants of Indian origin, arrived from East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Burma, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zaire, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, and Pakistan, to settle down in India forever to be eligible for this exam.
  • Entrants who have been issued a certificate of eligibility by the Government of India are also eligible for SSC GD Exam. However, it is mandatory to submit the eligibility certificate to the SSC.

 

Age Limit:

The minimum age for eligibility in SSC GD Exam is 18 years and the maximum age for general entrants is 23. However, there is the provision of age relaxation for entrants under certain minority categories. Let’s find the details below:

  • After the physical standard are measured if the entrants meet the criteria of height requirement they are selected for the run.
  • Before the PST or PET, there will be document verification too.
  • Entrants must be able to come up will all documents required to prove their eligibility.
  • The entrant’s biometrics and technology-aided identification will be done after the physical efficiency test.
  • Thereafter there will be Medical Test.
  • Ex-servicemen will have to go through the medical test but they do not have to go through the physical efficiency test.

 

SSC GD Constable Admit Card will be available for download from the official website of SSC only. Entrants can find all the relevant dates for the SSC GD Constable Exam 2021 from the official website of SSC. However, SSC GD Constable 2021’s admit card is likely to be released in July 2021. SSC GD Constable 2021 Admit Card Downloading Steps:

  • Entrants must log into the official website of the Staff Selection Commission.
  • Click on the Admit card button to be found on the right side of SSC’s logo.
  • Download the admit card by clicking on the admit card button and followed by the selection of your region.
  • Select the exam name and fill in the credentials like name, roll number etc to log in.
  • Log in and your admit card will be visible.
  • Download the admit card and get it printed.
  • Carry the Admit card along with the government photo ID card to the Exam hall to enter the exam hall.

In case the entrants forget the password to log into the SSC’sportal while trying to download the admit card they can recover it by following some simple steps as follows:

Password Recovery Steps:

  1. Entrants go to the official website of SSC.
  2. Click on the button that says Forgot Password below the password box.
  3. Enter your email or mobile number used while doing the registration for the SSC GD Constable exam.
  4. The password will be sent to your registered email or mobile number.
  5. Use the same to log in.

Now let’s have a look at the government ID cards that can be carried along with admit cards to get entry into the exam hall:

Government ID List:

  1. Aadhar card / Voter Card.
  2. Pan Card
  3. Passport
  4. Or Any other ID card issued by the Government of India.
  5. Medical certificate if the entrant has applied for the scribe option.

Note: Entrants do not have to carry all the ID cards to the exam hall. Just one ID card is enough to verify their identity as a legit participant. However, the list suggests if any of the above-mentioned IDs are not present then the other can be used as a substitute.

COVID Alert:

Due to COVID 19 pandemic, our lives have been hugely impacted. Mankind is still fighting COVID 19 and so far, precaution is the only way to cope with it. Hence entrants need to take some measures while appearing for the exam. Let’s have a look:

  • Entrants should wear a mask to enter the exam hall.
  • Entrants must wear hand gloves while entering the exam hall.
  • Entrants must carry a bottle of hand sanitiser. The bottle should be clear or transparent, not coloured.
  • Entrants should have Arogya Setu App downloaded on their smartphone. This is a mandatory step.

The final selection of the entrants in SSC GD is done after 4 stages of the exam. SSC will declare the cut-off score after the CBT exam is done and entrants will be further selected based on their physical and medical tests. Entrants who manage to score more than the cut off marks in CBT will further appear in the physical test. After the medical test final selection will be made. Let’s have a look at some of the details of the exam:

 

  • The final merit list will be released by SSC after all the shift and round of exam is over.
  • Each round of exams will be a qualifying round and will have separate cut off marks. Entrants have to score more than the cut off to qualify in each round.
  • Entrants need to produce all certificates or documents relating to citizenship, case, educational qualification, certificate of disability and certificates relating to age relaxation if applicable. In the failure of production or verification of any documents, the entrant’s candidature may get cancelled.
