How have technical and economic development led to more consumption of resources?

(i) Technological development delivered well equipped tools and it has increased consumption of more resources. (ii) Technological development resulted economic development. So, with the economic condition, needs of people are increased equally which lead to more consumption of resources. (iii) Economic development provide platform for the development of modern technologies and which convert different types of materials into resources.  (iv) So, it lid to the consumption of new available resources.  (v) In developed nations the needs of the people are high and they consume more resources, whereas in developing nations the needs of the people are less so resource consumption ratio is lower.  For example: USA consumes five times more mineral compared to the world average.
