A neutralisation reaction is when a base reacts with acid to form salt and water.
Acid + Base → Salt + water
For example,
\(\mathrm{HCl}+\mathrm{NaOH} \rightarrow \mathrm{NaCl}+\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}\)
