\(1 \mathrm{~N}=1 \mathrm{~kg} \times 1 \mathrm{~ms}^{-2}\)
\(=(1000 \mathrm{~g})\left(1000 \mathrm{cms}^{-2}\right)\)
\(=10^{5} \mathrm{gcm} \mathrm{s}^{-2}\)
I.e., 1 newton \(=10^{5}\) dyne.
