The SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2021 is simply divided into three Tiers.

Important Note for SSC CHSL Exam Pattern:
The tier II of the SSC CHSL Exam is conducted offline. It is a descriptive exam and candidates will be asked to write essays, letters, applications, and precis. This exam will be held either in English or Hindi language. The phase of the exam is to test the writing skills of the candidates. candidates are suggested to follow the latest letter and application writing formats. They should read daily newspapers, articles, and magazines to get success in this phase of the exam.

SSC will conduct the SSC CHSL Exam in 3 phases. Tier-I is a computer-based exam and MCQ. Tier-II is a descriptive paper to test the writing skills of the candidates. Tier-III is a computer skill test exam.
SSC does apply negative marking in the CHSL exam. The Tier-I exam which is a computer-based MCQ will have negative marking. For each wrong answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted.
All candidates must attend all phases of the exam. However, there could be an exception for the permanently handicapped entrant. If the commission allows the candidates they can be exempted from appearing in the Skill test exam.
SSC CHSL Tier-I exam will be conducted tentatively from 16th to 27th March 2021.
The typing speed required for Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistants is 35 words per min for English medium & 30 per min for Hindi medium.
If an entrant has qualified in all the rounds of the exam but failed to provide relevant document verification, they will not be selected for employment.
The Tier I exam has a total of 100 questions with 2 marks each that come to a total of 200 marks. The time allowed is 60 minutes and for candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy, the time is 80 minutes. Tier II is 100 marks and is for 1 hour. Tier III is a Data Entry Skill Test / Computer Proficiency Test.
