The SSC GD Constable exam is conducted in four stages. The first stage of the exam is CBT. If the entrants qualify in the CBT phase they will then have to attend the Physical Efficiency Test thereafter they will go through Physical Standard and Medical Test. Each round of the exam is qualifying. Entrants need to qualify in each round to be selected for the next one. This phase of the exam is called a computer-based test. The entrants will have to appear in the test through the computer. the question will be multiple choose entrants just need to select the right answers. There will be four papers in this exam. The total marks of the exam will be 100. Entrants will have a cumulative time of 90mins to finish the exam.

Post completion of CBT the entrants will have to face a Physical Efficiency Test or PET. The entrants will be asked to perform physical activities to test their abilities as the post under GD would involve physical fitness.
