An electric dipole of moment p is placed parallel to the uniform electric field. The amount of work done in rotating the dipole by 900 is-

Answer is (ii) pE
$$
\begin{aligned}
&W=p E\left(\cos \theta_{1}-\cos \theta_{2}\right) \\
&\theta_{1}=0^{\circ} \\
&\theta_{2}=90^{\circ} \\
&W=p E\left(\cos 0^{\circ}-\cos 90^{\circ}\right) \\
&=p E(1-0)=p E
\end{aligned}
