Solution:
The rms value of the current
$$
\begin{aligned}
&i_{\mathrm{rms}}=C \omega \varepsilon_{\mathrm{rms}} \\
&C=40 \times 10^{-6} \mathrm{~F} \\
&\omega=2 \pi f=100 \pi \\
&\varepsilon_{\mathrm{rms}}=200 \mathrm{~V} \\
&\therefore i_{\mathrm{rms}}=200 \times 40 \times 10^{-6} \times 2 \pi \times 50 \\
&=2.5 \mathrm{~A}
\end{aligned}
