The RRB NTPC exam has a vast number of subjects and topics to cover. Apart from that, many of you will further appear in either the CBAT or typing speed test. The CBAT exam will need an ample amount of practice regularly so that entrants can be ready to face the exam. From So let’s have look at the exam pattern 1st before moving to the syllabus:

The subject and topics for CBT- 1 & 2 are similar only the difficulty level is different. Entrants are advised to follow the previous year’s question for reference. The CBAT phase is not needed for all job posts within RRB. However, the CBAT or comp based aptitude test is only needed for two job posts, namely Station Master and Traffic Assistant.

The score from all the phases of the exam will be normalized and then only the final merit list will be declared. If an entrant is selected they will be further called for a DV round. If they qualify in the DV round then only they will be awarded the job post.
Entrants are requested to carry all these valid documents as per their category and requirements, for successful verification of documents. Entrants may also have to upload some documents while applying online, hence advised to go through the uploading instruction in RRB NTPC Apply Online process.
As the NTPC exam is one of the great opportunities to secure govt job, entrants are advised to study hard. No, unlike few other govt job exams RRB JE is not carried on every year. It depends on the available vacancies with railways.
There are two main phases in RRB JE. CBT I and CBT II, apart from these are two other phases (CBAT/TST & Medical Test) that entrants might have to attend depending on the post they have applied for.
Station Master and Traffic Assistant jobs require CBAT.
Yes, Negative marking is there in CBT Phase-II as well. For each wrong answer, there would be a 1/3 mark cut. This is for both Phases.
There are, different percentages of minimum scores as fixed by RRB for various categories of candidates appearing for the exam. The table is on this page itself. PwD candidates can be given an extra 2% score relaxation depending on the footfall of the candidates of the same category and the number of available vacancies.
There is no negative marking the CBAT phase.
The CBAT will have five sections of the exam and in the 5th sections, the entrants will be tested on two different dimensions of their personalities. Entrants have to qualify in both dimensions to qualify. Therefore 6 different scorings will be extracted.
No, there is no score relaxation available for any reserved category candidates within CBTA.
