The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has withdrawn vacancies from its recruitment under the various posts of Scale I and II officer. A letter was circulated on social media regarding the withdrawal of vacancies by the RRB’s sponsored Bank of Baroda before the declaration of the preliminary result of IBPS RRB. All the candidates who were preparing for IBPS RRB Scale I and II exams were worried about the increased cut-off due to the decrease in vacancy.
IBPS RRB 2021 notification for the recruitment of PO and Clerk post was released on & June 2021 on its official website. As per the notification, around 13, 201 vacancies were released.
On 24th June, IBPS decreased the vacancies for some RRB’s to 12,097 because of the reduction of vacancies by Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank and others. A student asked the Bank of Baroda official Twitter handle on seeing the circulation of the letter regarding the clarity of the issue and notify it as soon as possible.
Bank of Baroda replied ” Dear Sir/ Madam, “Recruitment in RRBs is a dynamic process that depends upon restrictions imposed, business volume, business growth, health of the organizations, branch expansion, internal and external factors, structural changes etc. Vacancies mentioned.” They further added ” here are indicative and anticipated as communicated by the RRBs. However, Provisional allotment will be made based on the actual vacancies reported by the RRBs.” In view of above and looking into structural changes, digitalization & various internal external factors, the decision in this regards will be taken subsequently by respective RRBs.”
Students have requested RRB to review their decision of withdrawing vacancies as it will affect the career of thousands of aspiring candidates. The letter which was mentioned which has not been officially announced by any RRB’s was based on the subject of Manpower planning- Recruitment of Staff. RRB requested in the letter about the rejection of some of the regional vacancies of RRB’s by the Bank of Baroda without stating the actual reason.
A similar thing happened in the previous year some vacancies were decreased before the preliminary exam but were added after the mains examination due to which the cut-off went higher in the pre-exam.
As of now, no official notice has been released by RRB or IBPS regarding the truth of the letter or the withdrawn of vacancies in the year of recruitment 2021. So, students should not lose hope and study well for the upcoming mains examination of Scale I and II officers. Those students who were not be to qualify for the preliminary exam should also work hard and excel in the upcoming other bank exams and also the next year’s IBPS RRB recruitment.
The IBPS RRB PO mains is scheduled to be conducted on 25th September 2021.
No official announcement has been done for the withdrawal of vacancies.

18 to 30 years was the age limit to apply for IBPS RRB Scale I officer.
